About

Hello! I'm Juliet the founder of Blacklight - I'm a Wellington, New Zealand based graphic designer and photographer. I have combined my love of paper and eye for clean lines and lighting to make origami inspired light shades for your home or office. The importance of lighting spaces beautifully inspired the creation of the shades. A creator at heart, I see value in hand crafted products, each shade made with love and care for clients.

I produce Blacklight light shades from a central Wellington design studio. Each light shade is made to order and individually folded. Blacklight prides itself working with residential and commercial clients, one off orders or sizeable fit outs.

I believe the art of origami is more than just folding paper - it's a philosophy that embraces simplicity, patience, and precision. Each fold represents a step towards perfection, and each crease is a reflection of focus and dedication. Origami is an art form that encourages us to slow down, to appreciate the beauty of simple materials, and to find joy in the process of creation. It's an art that reminds us of the importance of patience and practice, and the rewards that come from persevering through challenges. The light shades are a celebration of the artistry and philosophy of origami, and I'm proud to share them with you.

By incorporating origami-inspired design into your home or office, you can bring a touch of tranquility and beauty into your everyday life. I hope that Blacklights paper light shades will inspire you to appreciate the beauty of simplicity and the power of art to transform the spaces we inhabit.

Blacklight, is committed to providing clients with high quality products and exceptional customer service. Each shade created is a work of art, it's a joy to bring a little bit of that beauty into homes and workplaces.
